If my glass is cracked or broken do I need to replace the entire window?
No, you will only need your glass replaced. We can supply an exact replacement

glass configured to match your original.

What is an insulated glass unit?
Insulated glass, often referred to as “IG”, “double-pane” or “Thermopane” glass, was
developed to create a more energy efficient window. Insulated glass is created by
bonding two panes of glass together along their perimeter while maintaining a space

between them.

Why do I have moisture or cloudiness in between my glass?
This is a result of insulated glass failure. The glass only can be replaced to make your window new again.

What causes insulated glass failure?
The seal in between your glass has to endure a lot of “abuse.” They contract in the cold and expand in the heat. They have to be able to withstand wind, hail, rain, ultraviolet rays, old age, and atmospheric pressure changes. There is no accurate way to find what caused the seal to fail.

Can my double pane glass be taken apart and cleaned?
No, an insulated glass unit is sealed at the manufacture.

What is tempered glass?
Tempered glass is one of two types of safety glass required by code used in cases in which standard glass could pose a potential danger. Tempered glass is about four to five times stronger than standard glass and does not break into sharp shards. Tempered glass is made through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling, making it harder than normal annealed glass.

What edgework options do I have when it comes to tabletop glass?
The most common edge is high polished. Also available in ground edge and beveled edge. (You can see them listed in the picture below).

When I open my windows the sash slides down and will not stay up, can that be repaired or do I need a brand new window?
If your window is not staying up when you open it, it could be caused by broken balances or jambliners (a devise to help you raise and hold your windows in place). You will not need a new window; all you will need to do is replace the balance or jambliners. We can obtain those new parts from our many suppliers and install them making your window function like new.

My shower has water spots and staining, can it be cleaned?
Yes and No. Level 1 (mild spotting and watermarks) staining can be cleaned. We offer a service for level 1 cleaning which includes sealing the glass to help resist further stains and spotting. One of our trained technicians will be happy to check your shower to see if it in fact can be cleaned.

Level 2 and above required replacement of the shower glass which we can assist you with. We can build and install all types of shower doors (from frameless heavy glass to standard built).
